Fumbling around in the dark with a telescope. Explorations in amateur astronomy and whatever else strikes my fancy. Now including technology stuff and other nonsense.

The Starshoot arrived about 45 minutes ago. I installed the capture software on the computer, hooked the camera up, hung it on the big Celestron and aimed it out the window

Yeah, it’s a doorknob. Well, what do you expect? I haven’t even read the manuals yet. This is straight out of the box, shot through two layers of dirty window glass and a screen. Oh, and the doorknob itself is on the neighbor’s house about 500 feet across the street.

The second image is the camera mounted on the 11” Celestron. It’s smaller than I thought it would be.
